RESISTIVITY SIG ANNOUNCEMENT The next meeting of the Resistivity Modeling SIG (Rt-SIG) is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2009 [Provisionally: 8:00am - 4:00pm] in Houston, TX It's less than 8 weeks to the next meeting of the Rt-SIG, and though we already have a few offerings, we are starting our solicitation of presentations on "resistivity" topics. "Resistivity" is to be taken in the broadest sense of the word -- zero to infinite frequency, time- or frequency-domain, real- or complex-planes, downhole- or surface-sensors -- but related one way or another to subsurface petrophysical characterization. We welcome case studies of problematic logs -- whether or not you have a solution. We are particularly asking for those usually under-represented at our meetings -- Operators, and other end-users of "resistivity data" -- to rummage around and see what suitable material they can present. If you have a presentation to offer, please respond as soon as possible to one of the Co-chairs (Peter Day or Abbas Merchant) Additional announcements closer to the meeting date will include the agenda, requests for attendance-confirmation, location of the meeting and other such items. Please make sure that potentially-interested people in your organization are aware of this meeting. Please do not assume that we have an all-knowing, all-seeing email distribution list! If you are aware of others who wish to attend the meeting but do not receive emailings from the SIG, please ask them to contact either Abbas Merchant or myself to get on the mailing list... Peter Day (PDay@MarathonOil.com) Abbas Merchant (gabbas@flash.net) Rt-SIG Co-chairs BE SURE TO TELL A COLLEAGUE ABOUT OUR EVENTS!! Over the last 50 years, the SPWLA has played a major global role in strengthening petrophysical education and strives to increase the awareness of the role petrophysics has in the oil and gas industry and the scientific community.
