SPWLA 2018 ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM
Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts
59th Annual Logging Symposium
London, UK * June 2-6, 2018
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
The SPWLA Board of Directors invites you to join us in London, UK, June 2-6, 2018 to showcase your recent innovations and discoveries at the 59th Annual Symposium. We solicit papers in the following categories,
Formation Evaluation of Conventional Reservoirs
New technologies and case histories in shaly sands, carbonates, low-resistivity pay, and thin-bed analysis.
Formation Evaluation of Unconventional Reservoirs
New technologies and case histories in organic-rich mudstones, tight gas/oil, and coal bed methane.
Europe Formation Evaluation
Case studies from North Sea, Artic, Scandinavia, Continental Europe, and the Mediterranean Sea.
Reservoir Characterization Case Studies
Integration of petrophysics with other disciplines, such as geology, geophysics, and reservoir engineering for static and dynamic modeling.
Completion Petrophysics
Hydraulic fracturing modeling, rock mechanics, completion optimization, case studies in spacing studies and stimulated reservoir volume.
New Borehole Logging Technology
Resistivity, nuclear, sonic, magnetic resonance, pressure/sampling, mud logging, imaging tool design and advancements in acquisition, processing, and data interpretation.
High Angle/Horizontal Well Evaluation and Real-Time Decision Making
Case histories, well placement, safety in over-pressured zones, drilling and completion optimization, wellbore stability and other well safety issues, and related new technology.
Reservoir and Production Surveillance
Production logging, cement integrity, enhanced oil recovery, behind casing formation evaluation, and new technologies.
Complex Reservoirs and New Play Types
Application of new and existing petrophysical techniques to solve challenges, keys to better understand the reservoirs to optimize development decisions in both short and long term.
Oil and Gas Data Science and Analytics
New trends on the use of petrophysical data for decision making using data mining and machine learning methods.
We welcome submissions of all types, such as case studies, new interpretation techniques, novel tools, and reviews of industry practices.
Abstracts must be submitted no later than Monday, 30 October 2017 via online submission at
http://www.spwlaworld.org/phpabstracts/submit_form.php. The information contained in your abstract is the basis for the acceptance of your paper into the technical program. Your abstract should contain no more than 500 words. Our members look for papers containing strong technical and innovative content at our symposiums. We ask you to refrain from commercialism and focus on the promotion of petrophysics and formation evaluation. Abstracts including trademarks or concealed advertising would normally rank low and will not be accepted for presentation.
