Most of these models need some graphical or curve fitting task to get the required parameters for estimating permeability and/or they suffer from inaccuracy in low permeability rocks. This work is aimed at getting easier and better estimation of permeability in the case of low permeability carbonate rocks. By the use of regression analysis, a correlation between permeability, porosity, and a new defined parameter (the area above the log-log plot of capillary pressure vs saturation, Alog _ log) has been found. The correlation is simple, easy to use, and works well in low permeability carbonate rocks where the ambiguous network structure of the pore system makes the estimation severely complex.
